TRIED & TESTED: FOTOGRAFISKA STOCKHOLM

December 11th, 2011

Most striking feature:

Best museum of Stockholm. I love photography. And you have to love that to appreciate this museum ofcourse. It’s all about photos. I was lucky enough to visit the exhibition about the work of Nick Brandt. A former director of music video’s. When he went to Africa to shot a clip of Michael Jackson he immediately became passionate about the animals who live there. So he started to make portraits of them. No not with a big lens from far away, but he actually gets very close to the animals. And start to capture their soul. Yeah, I know, that sounds a bit spiritual, but if you see the images you’ll understand. You see all the wrinkles in the skin of the Elephant, you see two lions looking like eachother like love ones would do. Amazing! Till January 8, but after that Anton Corbijn will show it’s work.

Oh, and then the museum shop. Isn’t that a heavenly place? You can buy books of photography ofcourse, but also posters, books and small magnets.
