Most striking feature:
Part exhibition space, part shop and part coffee place. Lokal is a 3-in-1 concept. The enthusiastic owner, Katja Hagelstam, told me about her job as a photographer and the book she made for the World Design Capital 2012 programme called Design Stories from Helsinki. You can buy it everywhere in the city, but ofcourse it’s better to collect it via her – and get some behind the scenes information together with a cup of coffee. At the moment there’s a wood exhibition going on (until July 29). I like the small sign that says: ‘everything is for sale, unless it speaks’.
