Most striking feature:
A home in Clapton. Russell’s of Clapton is a bed & breakfast in the East of London. It takes a while to get there, but the area is definitely in development. And therefor worth checking out. In between the fruit- and vegetable shops, you’ll find new espresso cafés among cool restaurants and a fantastic hairdresser (Johnny’s is the name). Annette, the owner of Russell’s of Clapton, invites you into her home. She loves to go treasure hunting on flea markets and that’s how the interior came together. There’s a living room with a good selection of books and magazines. And there are five rooms. Two with a shared bathroom, the others with their own. I stayed in a perfect room which makes you feel at home (even if you’re sick like I was, then the hotel is even more important). Thick duvets, a beautiful painting and a world plug for your mobile phone (I always forget to take a world charger). Oh, and you know what makes it even more like home? They have a dog. Reggie is the ‘dog of the house’: see him sleeping on the couch in the living room in the picture beneath. Definitely a place to stay if you’ve seen the sights, know London a little and want to discover a whole new area.
