The question I’m asked most often is: ‘what are your absolute favorites?’ That’s a tough question because everything on my site is a favorite, because otherwise I won’t write about it. But if I have to narrow them down to a shortlist of the best addresses, so you can print it out and take it with you, you have found the right page. Here you go: my favorites, all Tried & Tested, in Stockholm! Enjoy!


Story Hotel

Welcomes: bohemian travellers.
Loves: to decorate the rooms so nicely you don’t want to leave anymore.
PP-tip: buy the Story Hotel mug. I bought it in 2011 and it’s still my daily mug for a cup of tea.

Loves: to make you feel at home.
PP-tip: buy some magazines (see recommendation Paper Cut) and enjoy the beautiful lobby for hours.

Loves: to serve you quality meat; for lunch or dinner.
PP-tip: let them surprise you with the dish of the day.

Welcomes: everyone for a coffee to go.
Loves: to show you more than coffee, there’s also a shop in the back.
PP-tip: good place to go if you’re all by yourself. There are a lot of magazines lying around.

Welcomes: you in a spacious interior where you can go for lunch, dinner of a drink.
Loves: to serve you fresh fish.
PP-tip: take a look at their take-away products. Beautiful graphic design.

Welcomes: everyone: from children to groups.
Loves: serve you the perfect lunch.
PP-tip: don’t forget to walk through the attached supermarket where you can find stuff foodies will definitely like.

Loves: to sell amazing prints you will want to hang on your wall at home immediately.

Welcomes: everyone who loves good, inspiring magazines and books.
Loves: to collect an amazing collection from hard to find magazines from all over the world.
PP-tip: if you’re with someone who don’t like magazines and books but do like shopping? Nitty Gritty (both men and women) is next door.

Loves: to also sell beautiful notebooks.
PP-tip: they also have an online shop if you don’t want to take it with you in your hand luggage.

Welcomes: you into a fantastic vintage interior where you can shop the most amazing pieces of fashion. For both men and women.
Loves: a minimalistic style.
PP-tip: there are more stores in the city. I visited the one on the Smalandsgatan.

Design House Stockholm

Welcomes: every design-addict. You will find products of Design House Stockholm in the whole world, but this is their flagship.
Loves: to design the store in a way you will definitely get some inspiration for your own home.
PP-tip: do not enter if your on a cash-diet.

Welcomes: mainly men who are in need of a new bag.
Loves: to pin inspirations to their plywood wall behind the counter.
PP-tip: you will see only a door. The shop is downstairs. So don’t be afraid to enter.

Welcomes: visitors who love photography.
Loves: to invite the most popular photographers to show their work. Like Annie Leibovitz or David laChapelle.
