Most striking feature:
The whole city is about art and design this week. Which means: inspiring pieces of art and a fantastic crowd in the skyscraper city of the Netherlands: Rotterdam. Yesterday I did the complete Art Week in 1 day. All to provide you today with my favorites. Things that caught my eye and fascinate me very much. Photos say more than words, so here you go: my favorites during Rotterdam Art Week
1. OBJECT ROTTERDAM (If you only have time to visit one of the locations, go to Object Rotterdam in NAi):
Love the soft colors of the whole collection by Floris Hovers collection
Hello mother figure!
The ‘Ceramics for Plastics’ collection of Roos Gomperts
Beautiful chair belonging to Zetel
We Like Art Walls by Jan van der Ploeg (just like the openings picture)
2. RAW EXPO 2013, THEME: CHINA (in the same building as the Raw Art Fair)
Work of Wang Gongxin from Beijing
Alain Delorme with his Totems
Work of Marc Lagrange
Made by Kim de Ruysscher – piepschuim in the inside, coffee on the outside.
4. RAW ART FAIR
5. OUTSIDE THE RAW ART FAIR
Ofcourse Art Rotterdam is also worth a recommendation if you love art. And if you’re around go visit Nederlands Fotomuseum for the exhibition ‘The Sound of Silence’. Enter the cubicle and hear about the touching story of photographer, and Pulitzer Price winner, Kevin Carter who witnessed the tragedies in Sudan. The photo which won the Pulitzer Price you will never forget.
