MIKKELLER & FRIENDS COPENHAGEN

Most striking feature:

You may have heard about Mikkeller in Copenhagen? A stylish beer cafe in Vesterbro? Well they’ve opened a new one last month called Mikkeler & Friends. Karsten and Kristian from Rum4 did the design for the bar. One of the designers told me he was proud to show me that you won’t notice any white in the bar. And it’s true: everything in here is painted in a light blue/turqoise color. The interior is very inspiring. For example take a close look at the wooden cabinets (photo 4) you can close and open them for just the right amount of privacy. The bar is also a beautiful example of what to do with wood. Okay I’m a sucker for interior, but the main reason you come here is for their beers ofcourse. They sell more than 40 beers on tap from all over the world. Next to the cafe you’ll find the shop where they sell amazing designed bottles. You would start collecting immediately – it’s almost a shame to open the bottles.

Looks very clean and stylish and horribly horribly uncomfortable for a bar. At least the beer is great.

While the chairs are typically Danish in their firmness, I disagree that it is uncomfortable. I loved hanging out here on two separate trips to Copenhagen. When I return this will be one of my first stops. Great neighbourhood feel, and great beer!
