Most striking feature:
It took more than a year to open Habitat Vintage in the St Ouen Flea Market area. Why? Well first they had to rebuild the former chandelier warehouse (the huge Versailles kind of chandeliers) and ofcourse they had to collect the vintage Habitat furniture. Habitat is a well-known design brand founded by Sir Terence Conran. Habitat Vintage is an unique place because in here you will find the most beautiful vintage pieces of Habitat. How did they find all those chairs, tables and accessoires? By starting an internet campaign and to ask all of the people working at Habitat if they wanted to sell their pieces. Not everyone wanted to do that because they were so attached to it, but after a year of searching they finally had a collection to start with. Last Saturday the doors finally opened and I was among the first ten to enter. Apart from the beautiful chairs, vases and much more in the Habitat Vintage store, there’s also a small cafe called La Buvette and a new shop of l’Eclaireur on the site. The girls behind Tartes Kluger will serve drinks and ofcourse delicious cakes to the customers who want to think about buying that vintage couch they saw earlier. Everything in the shop is for sale so be sure to stop by as often as possible because the collection changes quite rapidly.
