HOTEL PARADIS PARIS
Most striking feature:
The warm interior. Interior designer Dorothée Meilichzon is a well-known name in Paris and even in New York and Ibiza. She did the interior for cool places like The Fish Club and Cafe Pinson in Paris, ECC Beach Club on Ibiza and ECC in New York. And now she designed Hotel Paradis Paris. Once the space was divided into two: a small leather shop at the place where the reception now is and a zero star hotel on the other side of the lobby. The owner decided to make a five storey hotel of it where the cool design details are found throughout the hotel. It doesn’t matter what kind of budget you have because every room has that same vintage style. The only thing you pay extra for is the space. I’ve tried their Triple Room (you can sleep with three in it because that super comfortable couch is also a bed) and it was perfect. A good bed, enough space for your luggage and clothes, a tray with tea, water and something sweet and a bathroom with bath.
The owners really wanted Hotel Paradis to be like your home in Paris. And that works well with the comfortable couches in the lobby, the up-to-date magazines and books from bookstore OFR and the delicious breakfast. The location is perfect if you want to discover Paris. It’s only a fifteen minute walk (with luggage) to Gare du Nord. You’re close to subway station Bonne Nouvelle which brings you to le Marais or Canal Saint Martin in a few stops. And PNY Hamburgers is located close to the hotel where you can try some delicious burgers in a cool environment. At le Fantôme, from the same owners as Nanashi, you can eat pizza and play pin ball and other games.
