WEEKEND IN BARCELONA

Every week I write about a beautiful address for FD Persoonlijk, the weekly magazine of the Financieele Dagblad in the Netherlands. The soon to be opened W Hotel in Amsterdam was a reason to stay and enjoy the W Hotel in Barcelona, because, confession, I’ve never stayed in a W Hotel before. And to tell a great story you have to experience things. I’m gonna tell you more about the W Hotel in Amsterdam when it opens in September (although I can now tell you that BK Architecture from Israel is doing the interior and there will be a fantastic rooftop terrace with two restaurants) but for now I love to share some pictures. The most striking feature? Definitely the view of the room on the 19th floor. Just like at Hotel ICON in Hong Kong it works like a magnet: you get sucked into it and it’s really hard to leave the room again. So be warned if your weekend in Barcelona consists out of a lot of meetings 😉

Saturday beach day! I’m currently reading Wild by cheryl Strayed and I finished some magazines. FD Persoonlijk with a portrait of Rem Koolhaas, the new Conde Nast Traveller with a great story about a writer who goes on a meditation retreat in Oman, Flair with my article about the most beautiful wedding locations and Grazia.

On Sunday we went to The Box Social at Hotel Brummell again. You see: I really like it (going there almost every weekend now)! We’ve tried the Sunday Roast and I can tell you that afterwards you won’t be hungry again for the rest of the day. Another picture of their beautiful patio!

And after that it was time for a quiet Sunday afternoon at home.
