MY WEEKEND IN THE NETHERLANDS
The Horst P. Horst exhibition started in the V&A in London before it travelled to Montreal and this Friday the exhibition of this legendary Vogue fashion photographer opened the doors in Rotterdam. This picture is taken in the basement where Dutch fashion designer Mattijs van Bergen created an exhibition called Photo to Fashion where famous photo prints were used for his black fashion collection. The whole space was black except for this pink inlet. Read more about the exhibition here.
In the afternoon I went to Amsterdam to visit a few new spots for The Amsterdam Guide update of October. Included was the beautiful new store of We Are Labels. Their fall collection was too good to be true. While I’m writing this I’m wearing my new blue dress/long sweater which I love. And for all of you who love L:A Bruket, they have an instore shop with a huge collection. Nice!
On Saturday I did a little tour of some new spots in Rotterdam. I’ve started with Scharrels & Schuim, a cafe where you can order chicken and beer. Then I visited the new In de Doelen cafe, from the same owners of Dudok and Vicini. There’s a brasserie and a restaurant and this colorful cafe on the corner. Groos is always worth stopping by and I finally had the chance to walk over de yellow Luchtsingel. When I drove back home I had to take a picture of the skyline of the city while the sun was setting and the sky was pink. Love it!
Have a great new week!
