Today I’m going on the first trip of 2017: Lisbon. The last time I went to that beautiful city was in 2013 when I made a roadtrip through Portugal (from Porto to Lisbon to Arraiolos to Comporta) and last month I went to the Algarve to visit the new Casa Mae hotel among others. One of the reasons I’m going this time is that Maria, the creator of Baixa House, one of Petite Passport’s favorite addresses in Lisbon, said goodbye to those apartments and opened a brand new place. With her sense of style it must be amazing. Another reason is the temperature. While there are chances that we can skate on natural ice this week in The Netherlands, it’s 15 degrees in Lisbon. Perfect temperature for some serious hotspotting. I can’t wait to see a super cool coffee place and of course the brand new Maat Museum. Vamos!

    Hi Pauline

I was in Lisbon in May and loved it. Will go there again as soon as I can.
A must-visit is the Decadente (http://thedecadente.pt/rest/). In a very cozy and welcoming environment locally inspired meals with a twist are served. Cocktails also were really good.

The same people behind Decadente also have a hotel – didn’t stay there but it might be worth checking out.

Hi Benjamin, thanks so much for your comment! Yes, The Decadente is a special place as well. Thank you for the recommendation! Also loved the square in front of the restaurant/hotel. Best wishes, Pauline
