New in Amsterdam is Salt Water, a lovely shop where owner Wanting Choo sells products that are handmade, natural and organic.

From Malaka to Amsterdam

Wanting Choo was born in Malaysia and traveled the world to live in places like Beijing, Los Angeles, Paris, and Melbourne. When she was living there she met a Dutch guy and fell in love. Because he lived in Amsterdam, she thought: why not move there? As she has a passion for beautiful handmade products, she decided to open her shop called Salt Water.

Sustainable products

She shows me around and tells me more about the products she sells. Beautiful and organic underwear by Base Range in Paris. The famous stackable porcelain by Hasami Porcelain from Nagasaki in Japan. And a natural skin line by Surface Milano. She also sells linens, scarves, sunglasses, and soaps. All well-designed and good for you and the environment too.

Apart from the shop, there’s also a small cafe inside where she sells coffee and delicious pastries from Japan and Malaysia. Do pay attention to the side tables which she made by herself. Salt Water is located on the Haarlemmerdijk (66) close to spots like Sukha, Restored and Toki.
