EVERNOW ROTTERDAM

New in Rotterdam is Evernow, a colorful shop selling work of young talented designers like Atelier VanRosa and Mae Engelgeer.

Het Industriegebouw

They said The Zwaanshals in Rotterdam would be the upcoming district of the city, but after more than five years, I think we can conclude that it didn’t work out the way they planned it. Bertmans and Lof der Zoetheid are lovely places to go, but the rest lacks a certain liveliness. That’s entirely different at Het Industriegebouw. Only opened a year ago with spots such as By Jarmusch, Groos, and Heroine it’s already the hottest place to go in Rotterdam.

Evernow

Erwin & Nynke were the owners of & Designshop, but they grew out of the location. They started looking for something else with more space. So when the initiators of Het Industriegebouw approached them for a retail spot with studio space, they quickly made their choice. They changed the name to Evernow and are now open for a few weeks.

Design and plants

The interior is a feast for your eyes. You see a lot of pink and green colors. And beautiful, self-made cabinets, tables, cubes and a stunning counter. New in this shop is that they also sell many plants. A conscious choice, because in this corner of Rotterdam you don’t really have a beautiful plant shop yet. So whether you’re here to buy a necklace of Atelier VanRosa (my favorite) or a new plant: you’re going to succeed.

Young designers

The essential starting point for their sales policy is that young designers make the products in their local environment. They sell the work of brands like Fest (their mirrors are fantastic), Cluse watches and Scandinaviaform. They also have many products from Ferm Living. And apart from those brands, they also design their own products at the back of the store.

I like the article, but I don’t agree with your opinion about the Zwaanshals.

Hopper, whiskybase, man with the pan, Koen Ijssalon, Zino, Allegaartje, Nomo, Happy Earth, Brouwerij Noordt and lots of more nice shops I don’t have in mind at the moment and every Saturday the farmers market…

    I think you’re wrong.

Hi Wouter, thanks for your comment and for sharing your opinion. Highly appreciated. I think it’s time for me to visit Zwaanshals again. My favorites in that area are Lof der Zoetheid and Bertmans, looking forward to write about new places in Rotterdam-Noord too! Warm wishes, Pauline
