Bye bye November, hello December! I hope you had a lovely month in terms of travelling. Where did you go? What did you see? I started this month with a quick visit to the temporary vintage Scotch Collectables shop in Amsterdam to see what the creative team of Scotch & Soda collected over the years. Next up was a visit to sunny Barcelona where I found three beautiful new spots and turned them into a Tried & Tested. I’m talking about Ido do Balear, Saboc and Bacoa. In Rotterdam I finally went to Damage Playground and I drove to Amsterdam to visit the beautiful b&b of &Klevering on the Oudeschans. Then I took the Thalys to Paris to do what I love most: walk through a city in order to find amazing new addresses to share with you. I know Paris is always in the top 5 destinations here on Petite Passport so I have to take care of a good and updated list of addresses over there. I hope I’ve inspired you to go there soon again! Enjoy December! Love to hear about your travel plans! For now… The best of November!

Bye bye October, hello November! I hope you had a lovely month in terms of travelling. Where did you go? What did you see? I started the month in London and discovered many new addresses like the new Ace Hotel and Whyte & Brown. After London I went to Antwerp for a day and the week after that I was surprised by the talents spotted on the Dutch Design Week. Most special was the restaurant called StamPiet. A pop up restaurant decorated with hundreds of blue shirts. And I wasn’t the only one who thought the restaurant looked stunning because it was the most popular post of October as well. I have to thank my boyfriend for saying that we really had to stop there as well, because otherwise I wouldn’t have found it at all (it wasn’t located on the main hub of the Dutch Design Week). Eindhoven is one of my favorite cities in The Netherlands and couldn’t be complete without a dinner at Radio Royaal. Also highly recommendable! Off to November: I’ve planned two trips already, so can’t wait to take you to those European destinations soon. Have a lovely month!

Bye bye September, hello October. Each month while I write this post I think: how quickly does time goes by? Another month passed already! This month started with a nice and quiet week offline for me. And after that it felt great to get started again: to inform you again about the coolest spots in the world (and I also did this for the readers of Red, FD Persoonlijk and ELLE Eten this month). I traveled from Barcelona to Rotterdam, fell in love with Old School in Amsterdam (and have already received so many Read more…

Bye bye August, hello September. September always feels like the new year to me. Hotspot-wise there are enough openings and design-wise enough events. I’m gonna tell you all about it in the next couple of weeks, but first we look back on this last month. I spent a large part of it in Barcelona. Finally found time to re-visit my favorite hotel in Barcelona called The Praktik Rambla to make an up-to-date Tried & Tested. And apart from The Praktik Rambla I’ve noticed that the first Praktik hotel was renovated completely into The Praktik Garden. The last week of the month I flew back to the Netherlands to capture a few new openings already. Like the Student Hotel in Amsterdam. The official openings date is planned for September 1st, but I could take a look around and order a delicious sandwich at The Kitchen. Kade 6 is a nice coffee place, while I was very happy to be one of the first reporters to visit the Leidinghuis on the Westergasfabriek terrain. A unique hotel room decorated by Piet Hein Eek. Have fun travelling in September!

Bye bye July, hello August. After a month full of traveling I had to sit down behind my laptop to tell not only the readers of Petite Passport about my recommendations in Berlin, Paris, Portugal and Hong Kong but also the readers of magazines such as Grazia, FD Persoonlijk and Red. The more people I can inspire the better right? I’m now working in Spain so in the weekends I love to see more of the country. Of Barcelona ofcourse (see my Tried & Tested of Oval, a new, cool hamburger address in l’Eixample) but I also been to Sabadell, Sant Cugat, Valencia and the Costa Brava. Most of what caught my eye there is captured on my Instagram page. Before I traveled to Spain I went to Amsterdam for a day to quickly visit all the new addresses there. I really loved Boterham, Lot Sixty One and Huygen’s Dok and I’m glad they all made it to the top 5 of most popular posts here on Petite Passport. Hally’s in London is still going crazy, just like the new Musket Room in New York. Enjoy August!

Bye bye June, hello July! How was your month so far? Did you visit cool places? Went to that new cafe? Or finally slept in that hotel you’ve dreamed of for quite some time? I loved my month in terms of travelling. It all started with a spontaneous trip to Paris to sleep in Merci for one night. A truly unique experience to sleep in the world’s coolest concept store. And I was right on time to go to the new Habitat Vintage space in Saint Ouen. Then I went to Portugal and visited places like Porto, Lisbon, the Alentejo region and Comporta to discover the most beautiful hotels and restaurants over there. From the beach atmosphere of Comporta I travelled to Asia’s World City, Hong Kong, and walked the city for hours to find a collection of places I would all send you to. There were a few great new openings as well: Hally’s in London was definitely the hit on my website last month. Because it has more than 13000 shares on Pinterest I think we can conclude that it’s, without a doubt, a stunning address. And, more news from London, the Ace Hotel is gonna open in Shoreditch in September. So we all know where to go this autumn right?
Enjoy your month!

Bye bye May, hello June. This year is definitely passing by very quickly. Time’s flies when you’re having fun it seems. How was your month so far? Where did you go? Which spots did you try? I did a small tour of the Netherlands. Went to Zandvoort on the only sunny day in May and spotted a brand new beach club. And I drove to The Hague and Utrecht to see more of those cities. I’ve travelled to Barcelona for a weekend and enjoyed lunch at Gallito and Big Fish. Last week I went to Berlin and love to show you my discoveries starting this Monday. Also I’m very grateful that Petite Passport’s Facebook page reached 5000 fans and more than 10.000 people follow my travel boards on Pinterest. Ofcourse you can be one of them: on Facebook I’ll keep you updated about the new spots, take you with me during my travels and share some interesting news. On Pinterest you can make your own Travel Bucket Lists with the content you find here on Petite Passport. And Instagram is meant as a digital suitcase. So you can jump in it and travel with me to all those amazing restaurants, hotels and shops the world has to offer. For now: enjoy June!

Bye bye April, hello May. How was your month in terms of travelling? Where did you go? What did you see? My highlight was a trip to Copenhagen where I found some amazing restaurants and shops. And I’ve stayed in an apartment of Stay Copenhagen – completely furnished with items of Danish design company Hay. I love to see that you liked my discoveries in Copenhagen as well; by looking at the Google Analytics Stats there are three places in Copenhagen in the top 5 of most viewed spots on Petite Passport this last month. I hope I’ve inspired you to go to Copenhagen or to dream away by seeing the images. Apart from Copenhagen, I’ve discovered a new hotel in Amsterdam (Hotel V) and two new restaurants. One in Den Bosch (Mariapaviljoen) and one in Dordrecht (Khotinsky). Let’s see what May will brings in terms of cool spots! Have fun travelling!

Bye, bye March, hello April. How was your month in terms of travelling and seeing the latest spots around the world? Or even close by? In your own city? I was so lucky to start the month in Cape Town and Johannesburg to discover the best places for you to go. At home I had a lot of work waiting for me, but that didn’t stop me from updating my own city (Rotterdam) and visiting the new concept store Groos. And I went to Antwerp to see de Invasie and discovered Viktor: a beautiful place to get your coffee (or hot chocolate milk) and shop. Another thing to celebrate is the fact that my blog turned 3 years last week and I’m still not thinking of stopping at all. There’s so much more to discover to get you, and myself, in the mood for travelling the design way. Have a good month!

After that I really like taking you with me to South Africa and see you reacting and commenting on all those pics. I hope I got you all into a South African mood! This month I will be hosting another great contest, will write about all those wonderful places I’ve discovered in Cape Town and Jo’burg and ofcourse bring you lots and lots of other interesting spots.
