Arnhem is a great (read: creative and fashionable) city. Apart from shops like Coming Soon, BL-IJ and Humanoid, they host inspiring events like the exhibition of Spijkers & Spijkers recently. The only thing missing is a hotel – so you can stay the night. Dutch illustration artist Piet Paris is art director of a new to open hotel in Arnhem. He will design a couple of rooms together with big fashion names with their roots in Arnhem like Spijkers & Spijkers, The People of the Labyrinths and Iris van Herpen. I’m very curious about the concept, because we all know a fashion hotel is usually a marketing trick (check the Amsterdam Fashion Hotel). But Christian Lacroix did show us that it can be done at du Petit Moulin Paris.
The opening is planned in June 2012. I’ll keep you posted.

Most striking feature:
Dutch design. Everything in here has a Dutch autograph signed on it. If it is fashion – like Spijkers&Spijkers - or design – like Droog Design. You can be a greedy girl and buy a button for 1,20 euro, but you can also give your creditcard the best time of his life: some labels have a huge euro bill on it.
