TRIED & TESTED: JEDA VILLA BALI

November 28th, 2011

New contributor Selina Thurer lives in Singapore and travels a lot to other Asian destinations. Lately she went to Bali and stayed at this beautiful villa:

Most striking feature:

“The Jeda Villa is a peaceful paradise featuring everything you need for a relaxed retreat.  Its large thatched roof covers three bedrooms and a giant veranda with plenty of space to spread out.  But you will likely spend most of your time lounging by the private infinity pool, especially at nightfall when millions of stars sparkle above you.  The expertly blended mix of Read more…

TRIED & TESTED: THE JUNCTION BALI

November 17th, 2011

Maartje Bodt is stylist for several Dutch magazines and went to Bali last week for work. She discovered the Junction in Seminyak:

Most striking feature:

“Ofcourse the building itself. It’s made out of wooden panels. But inside it’s fantastic as well. Every wall is made out of glass jars and they are organised on color. So one wall is brown with cinnamon, another pink with feathers. Great spot to drink something or have lunch.”

TRIED & TESTED: POTATO HEAD BEACH CLUB BALI

November 17th, 2011

New contributor Maartje Bodt is stylist in the Netherlands for publications like Jan and Mama Magazine. Last week she went to Bali for work and she visited the Potato Head Beach Club and likes to tell about it to Petite Passport:

Most striking feature:

The entrance. It’s shaped like the Olympic Stadium and it’s made out of shutters from Java. It looks amazing. It’s located in the same area of Kudeta, but I wouldn’t recommend anyone to go to Kudeta anymore. It’s way too touristy (bit like the Blue Marlin in Ibiza, once it’s hip, it attracts a certain clientele). At Potato Head you also pay for a day bed – you have to spend at least 50 euro. So some people occupy them with three people. I rented one as well and ordered a whole lot of juices ;) But you can also order a good caesar salad or burgers (a very popular dish in here). The staff is dressed mega cool. Scotch & Soda style with blocked blouses, suspenders and a hat. And ofcourse, but that’s everywhere in Bali, they provide an excellent service. There’s also an infinity pool with a bar in it. If you order a cocktail over there, it’s served in a Potato Head. Very funny. Oh, and another thing: the business cards are fabulous.”

TRIED & TESTED: ALILA UBUD BALI

May 30th, 2011

Rik won a dinner at Mazzo through Petite Passport and since then he shares his love of travelling with PP. Last year he went to Bali and stayed at Alila Ubud in Bali:

Most striking feature:

“Definitely the Award winning infinity pool. Forbes Magazine voted it as one of the most beautiful pools in the world. The view is superb: right at the rice fields where Bali is known for. Don’t forget to book a spa treatment here as well because that’s a real bliss.”

Most striking feature:

The perfect place to buy a cute dress for a huge party. The brand is from Australia, but has recently opened a shop in Seminyak. I’ve bought this dress for only 40 euro.
