TRIED & TESTED: HABITAT VINTAGE PARIS

It took more than a year to open Habitat Vintage in the St Ouen Flea Market area. Why? Well first they had to rebuild the former chandelier warehouse (the huge Versailles kind of chandeliers) and ofcourse they had to collect the vintage Habitat furniture. Habitat is a well-known design brand founded by Sir Terence Conran. Habitat Vintage is an unique place because in here you will find the most beautiful vintage pieces of Habitat. How did they find all those chairs, tables and accessoires? By starting an internet campaign and to ask all of the people working at Habitat if they wanted to sell their pieces. Not everyone wanted to do that because they were so attached to it, but after a year of searching they finally had a collection to start with. I’m so grateful that I had the chance to sleep at the One and Only Bedroom by Hôtel Droog at Merci. Staying one night at the most inspiring concept store in the world! Imagine waking up and having the whole shopping department for yourself. Or walking through the Aesop department and smelling all those different flavors? Hôtel Droog is the newest concept store in Amsterdam where everything is all about Droog Design. During the Design Days in Paris they are taking over Merci. As a customer you can see a lot of Droog pieces, buy some funny sleepover extra’s like the suitcases with Check In on it (and check out on the other side) and for three nights the hotel opened on the first floor of Merci.
