Again in the Woodstock Foundry, this stylish hair dresser opened it’s doors last year. At first I thought it was a barber and that they only shave and cut men. There are two Field Offices in Cape Town, one in the center and one in Woodstock. In the Woodstock Exchange. A perfect place to have lunch, hang out with friends or work in an inspiring environment. The Woodstock Exchange is an old warehouse turned into a place where young entrepreneurs can do their thing. From a coffee roastery to a vintage store and from a pop up store to the super cool Superette: you will enjoy yourself here for a couple of hours. Truth Coffee is a well-known name in Cape Town. The coffee is sold everywhere and there are two Truth Coffee cafes in town. Their greenhouse. I couldn’t stop taking pictures. From some spots you know that they are good. They top the list of places you wish to visit and you have certain expectations. But then, if you’re actually there, it’s even better than you thought. What a space! And every m2 of the immense surface (200 hectares) is used optimally in terms of beauty. The tour starts in one of their suites. Authentic roll top bath, a four-poster bed, a nice living with a fire place, a stunning design kitchen and an extra room. Let the sunshine in! Superette is a discovery you want to share as quickly as possible and by entering gives you immediately a good feeling. The space is very cool with all those yellow and white accents and the sun shines through it beautifully. Superette is actually always full: people are doing their mail on their laptops or are chatting on a long table with friends. I went there to have breakfast. The Woodstock Foundry is a place where creativity rules. They make jewelry (Dear Rae), you can get a new hair cut (The Lobby) and sometimes they organize an evening filled with design (the Heavy Metal exhibition). Selah is an interesting store in the Woodstock Foundry. You can buy your Field Notes notebook here or an elephant made of wood, but you really get inspired by the quotations throughout the store and especially on the white board.
