TRIED & TESTED: LA SARDINA LOCA IBIZA

September 10th, 2012

Most striking feature:

The bright colored vintage chairs in the restaurant and on the terrace. They are bringing that little extra to this already fantastic, laidback, cafe in Sant Josep de Satalia. La Sardina Loca means ‘the crazy sardine’ and that’s why they decorated the walls with that tiny little fish. On the tiles inside to big wooden sculptures on the terrace. La Sardina Loca opened it’s doors this Summer and is done by Read more…

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE HOLIDAY SONG?

July 14th, 2011

When I was in Ibiza I hired a car to tour the island and they had a radio station with a collection of 10 hit songs which they played time after time. So when I hear this song I will always think of Ibiza:

But almost every holiday has it’s own favorite song. When I was on a ferry to Isla Holbox in Mexico I listened to Anjulie – Colombia. When in the airplane to New York I loved Across 110th Street of Calvin Richardson and when I went to London for work Disco Friends of Just Jack was on repeat.

What’s your favorite holiday song?

TRIED & TESTED: AMANTE IBIZA

July 13th, 2011

Most striking feature:

If you’re on a lovers holiday in Ibiza (staying at the Giri Residence for example) you should definitely go to Amante for dinner. Amante is located nearby Cala Llonga (terrible touristic village) in a small cove. During the day you can get a tan on one of their daybeds, but when the sun starts to go down a dinner is fabulous. Beautiful views, superb service and good food. Oh, it’s also a wedding venue.

(If you like Amante, I bet you like the Rock Bar in Bali as well…)

TRIED & TESTED: SUPPERCLUB NOVUM IBIZA

July 13th, 2011

Update: unfortunately this hotspot has closed it’s doors. But the Supperclub loves travelling, so stay tuned for another pop up stop.

Most striking feature:

The AMOR sign: love it! And the big white Supperclub beds ofcourse. We don’t hear about hotspots going on a holiday quite often, but the Supperclub does. The queen of lounging moved to Ibiza for summer and were invited at Novum. That restaurant is located on a industrial zone nearby Eivissa. We all know about Supperclub’s entertainment so that’s something you can expect as well. Please make sure to make a reservation due to the popularity.

TRIED & TESTED: ELEMENTS IBIZA

July 12th, 2011

Most striking feature:

From what I’ve heard there was a fire at Benirràs a couple of months ago. So they had to rebuild a lot and Elements is new. It’s definitely not as slick as the Blue Marlin, but I like the atmosphere. It’s easy going and good for a drink (or dessert) between your sun session on the beach of Benirràs. Next door there’s the shop Deseo where I bought a jumpsuit for 89 euro and I spotted this beautiful bag (but you can only pay cash or with VISA, so it’s still hanging there for one of Petite Passport’s fans!).

No website, just drive to Benirràs beach and you will find it on your right hand. Can’t miss.

TRIED & TESTED: THE GIRI RESIDENCE IBIZA

July 12th, 2011

Most striking feature:

Perfect small hotel for lovers. With only 5 suites you can really concentrate on eachother without being distracted. I didn’t stay here, but take a look at the images on their website of the suites and you know what I mean. Freestanding bath tubs, ethnic art and big fluffy pillows. The Giri Residence is from the same owners of Read more…

TRIED & TESTED: THE GIRI CAFÉ IBIZA

July 11th, 2011

Most striking feature:

A high quality hotspot with a big heart for children: I like. I only start on having babies when more hotspots are child friendly (or I have to train my child from the first day on appreciating design and behaving in restaurants and hotels – not an ideal mother I know). So anyway: my ideal child would love the newly opened Giri Café in Sant Joan de Labritja. Why? Well she/he can sit on a fabulous chair and has a special menu made for her/him named ‘The Giri Very Important Kids’. Don’t think of the Giri Café as a restaurant where little ones are running around bothering you when you’re in a deep conversation. The Giri Café is only open for dinner and it’s worth making a reservation (the chef once worked at El Bulli).

TRIED & TESTED: BLUE MARLIN IBIZA

July 11th, 2011

NOTE: I visited the Blue Marlin in summer 2011 and I had to say that a lot of locals told me to erase the Blue Marlin from Petite Passport. The audience is tacky and always in search for a famous soccer player. I saw girls on 11.30 am with a bikini combined with high heels – and a lot of Dutchies (the owner is Dutch). If you’re into a day a decadence: go! But if you’re searching for pristine Ibiza, go somewhere else. Oh, and I heard the beds can go up to 500 euro per day.

My friend, and PR representative for FUSE Marketing,  Trees Korstanje likes to see the world. In 2010 she went to Bali, Ibiza and Madeira. On Ibiza she did some sightseeing for Petite Passport:

Most striking feature:

“The details. Why use lamps if you can hang some chandeliers in the trees? And the signs for the toilets are too cute: for the men Neptune – god of the sea – and for us women a mermaid. Buddha’s are all over the place – especially at the entrance. Two huge ones wait on your arrival. There is an active lounge system that depends on the money you will spend. For a simple beachbed you’ll pay 15 euro, for a huge daybed 100 euro (but you can use it with three friends).”

Thank you Trees!
