July 29th, 2012

Most striking feature:

In the same street where you can find Pez Chicos and Pez Woman there’s a fantastic baby- and children store called Suenos Polares. I don’t have kids and that’s a save bet otherwise I would go crazy: so many beautiful Read more…

TRIED & TESTED: MAGASAND MADRID

July 29th, 2012

This is a photo update for Magasand, last year my boyfriend, aka Mr Petite Passport, tried & tested it already and wrote this awesome review. This time we went together and I could make some extra photos.

Most striking feature:

“This spot is called Magasand because it mainly is about two things: magazines and sandwiches. And not the typical magazines like ELLE and Telva, but the more special ones. Ofcourse the Wallpaper* and Monocle but I’ve spotted a new Spanishkids magazine as well (Tiny Weenie). If you love magazines Read more…

TRIED & TESTED: MATADERO MADRID

July 27th, 2012

Most striking feature:

Matadero Madrid is a former slaughterhouse converted into a massive art complex. It’s definitely not located in the center so take the subway to it. At Matadero you’ll find a cinema, room for creatives to do their thing, exhibitions, two restaurants, the Red Bull music studio’s and much more. We didn’t see a movie there (only in Spanish) but we walked around the complex and it did remind me of places like Read more…

TRIED & TESTED: BAR TOMATE MADRID

July 27th, 2012

Most striking feature:

Some of the lamps are made from old books and recently I learned that they are made from old Dutch Bosatlassen (thanks Gerdien). Probably I wasn’t paying that much attention to it, stupid me. I love the atmosphere: open all day from breakfast to drinks. Perfect for people who aren’t used to Read more…

TRIED & TESTED: KIKEKELLER MADRID

July 26th, 2012

Most striking feature:

Kikekeller is a design shop turned into a bar. One of the two owners, Celia, also one of the designers, told me that having a shop alone wasn’t enough. People are hesitating to go inside because they think they have to buy something. So they’ve opened a cafe in Read more…

TRIED & TESTED: NAIF MADRID

July 26th, 2012

Most striking feature:

This, sort of underground cafe, in Madrid is a perfect place to drink something between a shopping spree on the Calle de Fuencarral. It’s dark inside, but you’ll notice beautiful wall murals and different chairs. You can also bring your laptop because they provide free wifi and you won’t be the only one with a MacBook in here. Sometimes you Read more…
