M.OSS Design is a new designbrand from the Netherlands and makes lamps you immediately fall in love with. And I’m not the only one who thinks the simplistic design, with softly colored pastel lampshades, are so stunning. Several national and international Petite Passport hotspots are already selling the lamps.
Together with Marcel Ossendrijver, the designer of M.OSS Design, we’re running a competition. One of the readers here on Petite Passport is gonna win this Pixoss lamp with a grey lampshade (price: 195 euro, with an European plug). The Pixoss lamp is born out of the famous Disney Pixar logo. And yes, indeed. By looking at it again, you can see a comic figure in it. Marcel Ossendrijver loves everything that comes from Scandinavia: the colors, the materials and much more. That’s where he got his inspiration from. And he chooses for the beautiful pastel colors because they radiate a certain calmness. We all like that in our houses or offices, don’t we?
It’s very easy to win this beautiful lamp, you only have to: Read more…

Thank you for all your enthusiastic comments! It made my realize how many fashion talents we’ve got in the Netherlands because almost every answer is another fashion designer. Cool!
There’s only one winner and on this special day (it’s my 31st Birthday) I can make someone very happy! She’s is gonna sleep in one of the beautiful designed rooms of Hotel the Exchange. It’s gonna be a hard task to choose which one, but maybe she has a favorite already? Read more…

Hotel the Exchange in Amsterdam opened its doors in December 2011 and asked 8 students and alumni of Amsterdam Fashion Academy to design the rooms. From Malu Gehner who designed the room pictured above till Sofie Sleumer who made it possible to actually sleep underneath someone’s skirt. The good thing about a hotel with so many (61) different rooms is that you can visit again, and again, and again and will never be bored.
Another cool thing about Hotel the Exchange is that designer-duo Ina-Matt was responsible for the interior design of Hotel the Exchange. They helped the fashion students, but also designed the restaurant (Stock) and the shop (OPTIONS!). You should really buy their ‘don’t let the bedbugs bite’ pillow (for sale at OPTIONS!). If you are wondering who the owners are: Otto Nan and Suzanne Oxenaar who also initiated Lloyd Hotel & Cultural Embassy and Llove Hotel in Tokyo (a temporarily project a few years ago).
Together with Hotel the Exchange we’re running a competition. One of the readers here on Petite Passport is gonna stay in one of their beautiful rooms. Imagine Read more…

The Conservatorium Hotel opened it’s doors one year ago (well exactly on December 19th in 2011) and since then it’s stunning design attracts the movers & shakers in the fashion-, design-, celebrity, and even football world. Madonna stayed at the hotel. Vogue launched their Dutch version in the lobby. And Mario Balotelli slept like a baby after playing his Champions League match.
While counting the most popular posts on Petite Passport last year it was obvious: the Conservatorium Hotel is one of your favorite hotels in the capital of the Netherlands. The design, done by Piero Lissoni, is exquisite. The former conservatorium was extended by a beautiful glass facade and the lobby was mentioned in interior magazines throughout the world. There is a bar and another restaurant upstairs: making it’s purpose reach further than only hotel. It’s a place where everyday something interesting is going on.
Together with the Conservatorium Hotel we’ve made a fantastic, exciting, thrilling contest. One of the readers here on Petite Passport is gonna stay at the Grand Duplex Suite. A suite with Read more…
