I think we will go in the summer of 2013! i just want to go to nyc again during a heat wave, i love nyc when it is incredible hot outside!

Yep, Mile End is definitely a favourite. And don't miss out on Pearl River Mart and Fishs Eddy, both at Broadway Ave. Brooklyn Flea is great too...! Ping @ Chinatown serves the best dimsum, don't let the appearance of the restaurant scare you off ;-) 22 Mott Street. Have a great trip!

So many places to recommend, I could write a book.

In the LES food wise, you will surely be hitting the regulars, like Momofuku (noodles) and PDT (speakeasy bar hidden inside Crig Dog), but don't skip Momofuku Milk bar for the Pretzel Milkshake.

Also in LES there is a store you will like called Top Hat @ 245 Broome St that has pretty design things and a clean look about the shop. Its just a few blocks away from Russ and Daughter were you must go to get Bagel and Lox.

In Brooklyn Places to Eat: Betto (rustic American/Italian), Lucali (pizza made and eaten by candlelight), Mile End (Montreal Smoke Meat, Modern Kosher Deli) Frannies, Brooklyn Larder (to pick up some wine/beer/cheese better than a minibar has to offer). For a taste of Americana go to Brooklyn Farmacy and Soda Fountain.

And of course your can't miss event: http://www.brooklynflea.com/ Where everyone goes to eat/shop/see and be seen.

If in Chelsea: Employees Only, unlabeled speakeasy for dinner or drinks.

Hi Pauline,

Last year I went to NYC with my husband and had an amazing trip. Of course Manhattan is great, but I think you should definitely go to Brooklyn, more specifically Williamsburg. The atmosphere is much more laid-back and calm. Next comes downtown Manhattan, shopping heaven (small boutiques, not the average department stores).

If you can make it to Brooklyn. You must pay a visit to a restaurant called Marlow & Sons. terrific food and and wines. All ingredients equally fresh and tasty. Try to go during the week though, because they don't take reservations. Have fun!!
