TRIED & TESTED: CLOUD SEVEN CAFE PORTLAND

September 1st, 2011

Most striking feature:

The Macbooks. It was like Cloud Seven Cafe was around the corner of an Apple store because everyone in here was working on their Macbook. It’s a good place to come alone, check your mail and get in touch with the local Macbook users (don’t even think of bringing your Windows laptop in here, because I think you will cause a stir). I’ve ordered a chicken salad on a Yam Bum and a coke. We’re in Portland so it’s not the normal Coke, but the green version of it. Without the sugar and produced in an honest way. I loved this place also because of their lamps.

TRIED & TESTED: SANDY’S IBIZA

July 10th, 2011

Most striking feature:

Their garden behind the restaurant. Sandy’s is a well-known name on the island (Freddie Mercury and Errol Flyn used to come here), but the new Irish owner did some adjustments and now it’s a great place for lunch or dinner. The restaurant is divided in three area’s: the bar, the restaurant and the garden. The garden looks amazing: there’s an beautiful old church bench, cute red lantarns and you will find the herbs they use in the food there as well. We’ve ordered a wooden plate of antipasti to share (with olives, parma ham, ansjovis and cheese). The restaurant is located in Santa Eularia des Riu.

Eco Citizen is an eco store in San Francisco. In it you will find men’s and women’s wear with an ecoconscious feel to it. I fell in love with this scarf of A Peace Treaty. Several artisans from around the world have worked on the scarf. Price: 117 euro.
