TRIED & TESTED: HOTEL MODERN AMSTERDAM

Most striking feature:

It’s not even finished yet, but I was lucky to get a sneak peek into the new hotel at Cafe Modern in Amsterdam-Noord. You will find four rooms and a big loft in this former bank building on the other side of the river IJ. Only two are ready to sleep in, well: they just received their first guests. And the rooms are named after them (so I can tell you designer duo Kiki & Joost slept in the first one, Herman Brusselmans in the other). People with taste. Who can feel the love of the owner who collected the interior step by step in comparison to big hotel chains where every room looks the same – and there’s no room for personal fun.
