TRIED & TESTED: HAN KJØBENHAVN COPENHAGEN

April 19th, 2013

hankjobenhavncopenhagen

Most striking feature:

A few weeks ago Han Kjøbenhavn opened their first store in New York. But it all started in the center of Copenhagen in 2008 where two Danish guys were selling beautiful sun glasses. This small and very stylish Danish empire is a place where guys must go nuts. The store feels almost like a museum: the pieces of Han Kjøbenhavn are presented as it were pieces of art. But they also cut, color and style women. Good to know! The interior is beautiful. I like the wall made out of typical things a hairdresser can’t live without: like scissors, pins and a blowdryer. If you Read more…

TRIED & TESTED: SELAH CAPE TOWN

March 12th, 2013

selahcapetown

Most striking feature:

The Woodstock Foundry is a place where creativity rules. They make jewelry (Dear Rae), you can get a new hair cut (The Lobby) and sometimes they organize an evening filled with design (the Heavy Metal exhibition). Selah is an interesting store in the Woodstock Foundry. You can buy your Field Notes notebook here or an elephant made of wood, but you really get inspired by the quotations throughout the store and especially on the white board. I was touched by Read more…
