WHERE TO GO IN 2012?

January 18th, 2012

You’ve seen it all. Paris, New York, London. Where to go next? According to the spots I write about I see things happening in the not so obvious places. So if you want to be ahead of the trends, go here:

1. Gent. We all go to Antwerp if we drive to Belgium. Or sometimes Bruxelles. But now it’s time to pack your bags for Gent. In March they are Read more…

BEST OF 2011 IN DESIGN, HOTSPOTS & TRAVEL

December 19th, 2011

At the end of the year it’s time to look back at what you have achieved. In my case: a continuous feed of minimal 2 spots a day (sometimes 3). I’ve reached a total of 1000 posts. And, most important, I hope that I inspired you, my dear reader, to go out there and travel the world!

Because I love making lists: here’s my Top 25 of 2011. Places I’ve visited and got my heart pounding a little bit faster :)

1. Best date. Everyone is asking me the same question day in and day out: are you making money out of Petite Passport? Not yet, is my answer (hope to turn that around in 2012) but I received something way more important by blogging my way through hotspots: the greatest man alive! And it all started with a date at Mazzo, April 2.

2. Best hotel Read more…

TRIED & TESTED: CLOUD SEVEN CAFE PORTLAND

September 1st, 2011

Most striking feature:

The Macbooks. It was like Cloud Seven Cafe was around the corner of an Apple store because everyone in here was working on their Macbook. It’s a good place to come alone, check your mail and get in touch with the local Macbook users (don’t even think of bringing your Windows laptop in here, because I think you will cause a stir). I’ve ordered a chicken salad on a Yam Bum and a coke. We’re in Portland so it’s not the normal Coke, but the green version of it. Without the sugar and produced in an honest way. I loved this place also because of their lamps.

MINI’S AROUND THE WORLD

July 15th, 2011

I was going through my photos and I realised I have a strange habit: every time I’m on holiday and I see a MINI I have to take a photo. So I wanted to share my collection so far.

A beautiful one in Paris nearby the Louvre.

Best view from my hotel room at Praktik Rambla in Barcelona

Hanging up side down in Clinic Hasselt

A blue one in Portland

In Istanbul the police drives a MINI – so when I’m out of work I’m joining the Turkish Police force ;)

The owner of this Dutch MINI is my hero. He drove his car to Ibiza and I quess he’s enjoying every windy road… (jealous).

A cool red one in Copenhagen.

Sweets for my sweet: my own MINI in front of a crêperie in France.

What do you photograph when you’re on holiday? Birds? Street Art? Cars? I like to know that I’m not the only one behaving like a lunatic ;)

SOON ONLINE: PORTLAND SPOTS

June 9th, 2011

In March I went to Portland for Marie Claire. If you like the store Marqt (where everything is green with a cool flavour) you will fall in love with Portland. Because Portland is one big Marqt. I can’t tell you about the best spots I found during the five days I was there, but once the issue is out, I will treat you with a lot of Tried & Tested.

If you’re planning a trip to Portland, sent me an e-mail and I will give you the best tips on where to go.

Love, Pauline
