TRIED & TESTED: WITT ISTANBUL

August 9th, 2012

Most striking feature:

The view. The shower. The interior. I can’t choose. This hotel is superb! It’s located on a steep street (take a taxi when you’re with your luggage) in a good neighbourhood. You can easily walk to Istanbul Modern for instance (down is easy, up a bit harder). The lobby is small yet beautiful decorated by Autoban. The Turkish design firm you have to love. I was lucky to get upgraded to their suite.

The elevator is decorated with a funny illustration of the bell boy. Once you arrive on the highest floor and open the door, you can only bring out the following word: wow! And then faint. TRIED & TESTED: THE NOMAD HOTEL NEW YORK

A bath with a view over Manhattan. Can we wish for more? The NoMad Hotel opened it’s doors in May and it’s the new it-hotel in the NoMad district (North of Madison Square). From the outside you see nothing but an impressive building – and the next door Maison Kitsun√© boutique. When you enter you Read more…

TRIED & TESTED: RASANANDA KOH PHANGAN

April 20th, 2011

Babs den Haring is  one of the most dedicated Petite Passport travellers. Together with her handsome husband she travelled to Koh Phangan:

Most striking feature:

“The quiet Rasananda Resort is located in the middle of nowhere. You have to reach it with a 4×4 and it’s hard to get away: but that’s exactly what you want when you check in at this beautiful resort for your honeymoon (in our case). The suite was beautiful with our plunge pool, a huge bathroom and extra’s like a bathrobe, slippers and even a bag to take with you to the beach. The deckchairs on their private beach have your room number, so you don’t have to worry about not having a place to relax on the beach. This is the perfect place to relax!”
