I think every traveller has it’s own way of finding the best deal. Because I like all those design hotels it doesn’t mean that I didn’t like a good discount. So when I’m preparing for a trip I scan the following websites: Mr and Mrs Smith, I-escape, Splendia, Designhotels, Tablet Hotels and Booking.com.
I want to recommend Mr an Mrs Smith big time. I booked the Townhall Hotel in London via this travel organisation and was surprised by the warm welcome. It felt like we got a better room and we got a fruit platter on arrival. Because Mr and Mrs Smith is a well known organisation for boutique hotels I quess hotels love to work together and guests really notice the difference. When planning a trip to New York I’ve found some good offers on the Ace Hotel on this site as well.
With booking flights I’m loyal with Tix.nl. They have the option to scan the cheapest dates and airports around you. And when you book here, you get a voucher for your next booking. Which means: 20 euro off. A welcoming extra. (In my case: I’m flying to Barcelona in September for 75 euro retour, including everything).
Then there’s Booking.com. A huge organisation with a lot of crap on it. Because they don’t have any rules, every hotel can get on it. But there’s a tiny little extra: the design button. So first step: fill out your destination and the dates. After that you’ll find 1000 hotels match your criteria. Go to the left sidebar, find the box ‘theme’ and ‘design’. When using that box you can browse through the design options and here you’ll find a lot of Petite Passport hotels.
Play with the dates until the price shows up in green and you’ll know you have a great deal. I found some great rates on Med-inn in Bodrum. Combine that with a cheap camping flight and you’ll have a fantastic holiday.
But you don’t have to forget to check the website of the hotel itself as well. When I was searching for the best rates of the Mamashelter hotel in Paris the hotel itself had the best ones.
