TRIED & TESTED: HUTSPOT AMSTERDAM

January 10th, 2013

hutspotamsterdam

Most striking feature:

After their first pop up store on the Utrechtsestraat, they’ve opened a huge store on the Van Woustraat (around the corner of the Albert Cuyp Market). There are two floors. In the basement you’ll find a huge collection of clothes (for both men and women), books, interior accessories and plants. On the first floor there’s a cafe where you can read magazines, drink a good cup of coffee or meet up with friends. Apart from the cafe there’s also space for exhibitions (via Pup Gallery) and they will host yoga sessions. So you can imagine how spacious it is. What I like about the concept Read more…

TRIED & TESTED: HUTSPOT AMSTERDAM

May 21st, 2012

Part of the Hutspot philosophy is that they move from one location to another. At August 29, 2012, they close this store and will come back somewhere else. I’ll keep you posted.

Most striking feature:

Is it a concept store? Is it a pop up store? No, it’s hutspot: Amsterdam best mixed shop on the best street of the city. Let me explain: four guys opened the shop to give young entrepeneurs the chance to sell their work for a limited time (for two weeks, a month or more). I’ve spotted cupcakes, art, bags, an old typewriter and even a  Read more…

TRIED & TESTED: YOGA HOLIDAY AT IBIZA

July 9th, 2011

My first Yoga Retreat is a fact. The reason why I booked this holiday was because of the tension in my shoulders, my head which was filled with stuff to do and because I wanted to do something kind to myself. The Retreat is in Valverde (nearby Amante – a hotspot I will soon recommend on PP) high on a mountain. You have amazing views over Ibiza and even better sunsets.

The alarm goes at 7.30/8.00 am to get into your first yogalesson. After that you will have breakfast. The rest of the day is free to spend and at 7/8 pm there’s another lesson of 1,5 hour. Teacher Lena is a wellknown name on the island: she even helps Zinedine Zidane and Luis Figo get their soccer bodies flexible. It helps that she and her partner are very humorous as well.

After three lessons I felt better already: my shoulders were more relaxed and my back felt straight. My head didn’t think of deadlines. When the days passed, my body got a tan and when I looked at my body I felt a deep appreciation for everything I always ask of it (walking miles when hotspotting etc.). The design of the house isn’t something that got my heart pounding, but you’re here to enjoy the views, the yoga and the island (so rent a car).
