Most striking feature:

I’m so grateful that I had the chance to sleep at the One and Only Bedroom by Hôtel Droog at Merci. Staying one night at the most inspiring concept store in the world! Imagine waking up and having the whole shopping department for yourself. Or walking through the Aesop department and smelling all those different flavors? Hôtel Droog is the newest concept store in Amsterdam where everything is all about Droog Design. During the Design Days in Paris they are taking over Merci. As a customer you can see a lot of Droog pieces, buy some funny sleepover extra’s like the suitcases with Check In on it (and check out on the other side) and for three nights the hotel opened on the first floor of Merci. I love to tell you something about the experience. First you enter the store and by big beautiful signs you are guiding to the cashiers where you see a big sign with ‘Check In’. The manager of the store welcomed us and showed us the ‘hotel’. The huge suite was completely decorated with pieces of Droog Design. Ofcourse I took a lot of pictures of the Lounge of Layers of Katrin Greiling which I like a lot. But you could play a game by recognizing all those products. That chandelier? 85 lamps by Rody Graumans. That iPhone alarm clock? By Jason Damon. And that carpet? All in One dining carpet by Studio Droog. Around 8pm the concept store closes, the lights go out when you go to bed the only things that lights up are the two sticky lamps on your night stand. In the morning we had a delicious petit dejeuner with croissants and bread with jam on the large table and before the store opened again, we checked-out and were able to cross out another thing on our Bucket List. Sleep in the world’s best concept store by Hôtel Droog.
