This contest is now closed.

At the historical centre of Amsterdam, you will find a hospitality experience like no other. Hôtel Droog is a place where you can come for a drink, a bite to eat, exclusive shopping, exhibitions, beauty advice, a stroll in the garden, a lecture series, or even a bed for the night. Featuring the Droog Store, Gallery, Dining Room, Fairy Tale Garden, Beauty at Cosmania, Fashion at Kabinet, Products at Weltevree, collaborations with concept store Merci, and the one and only Bedroom, Hôtel Droog is definitely a place you can’t miss when you’re in Amsterdam.

If you’ve been to Hôtel Droog you have seen all those amazing spaces, except one. I’m talking about the One and Only Bedroom. Only accessible for guests and a heaven for design freaks like myself. The whole penthouse (with bedroom, bathroom with bath, kitchen and living room) is decorated with items of Droog Design. From the Lounge of Layers by Katrin Greiling to the Christien Meindertsma pouf. You will have a view over the rooftops of Amsterdam and you can log in to their free wifi system to upload a picture to share your amazing experience.

Together with Droog Design we’ve made a fantastic, fabulous and very exciting contest. One of the readers of Petite Passport is gonna stay one night at the One and Only Bedroom in Amsterdam! Imagine walking up the stairs and opening the doors to your Droog Design Home for one night. Sitting on that beautiful couch, sleeping underneath the cotton sheets and waking up with a coffee on that big table.

To win this amazing stay at the One and Only Bedroom of Hôtel Droog in Amsterdam for 2 persons including breakfast, you’ll have to:

1. Like Hôtel Droog Facebook page here.

2. Like Petite Passport Facebook page here.

3. And leave a comment why you wanna win the stay in the comment field below.

The contest runs until November 11th and we will announce the winners here and on our Facebook page.

Good luck, Pauline & the Hôtel Droog team (

My boyfriend and I just moved in together and one of the big reasons this has been so much fun is because of our shared taste in design. What better way to celebrate each other and our new home than in a hotel that has the scandinavian, colorful and bright style that we love so much?

Although I live in Amsterdam, I am longing to stay at Hôtel Droog for a while now. As a photographer, the area around Hôtel Droog is very inspiring to me. It is one of my favorite parts of Amsterdam. The more quite and less commercial side of the historical center. Hôtel Droog is whit its design a big inspiration for me as well, and it would be very nice to stay inside this inspiration. Their idea of ‘turning things around’ and just do things differently, that is exactly what I like and want to do as a photographer.

So time to show them what they’re missing – becoming foursquare mayor of the One and Only Bedroom, tweeting from the gallery space, a facebook check in at the spa, instagramming food photos from roomservice, pinterest snaps at the gallery and Kabinet… and a spotify playlist for rooftop drinks before heading out to see the rest of Amsterdam for the first time.

We don’t get to see each other often as we have been living apart for more than a year now. However we always have so much fun on the weekends in London visiting your hotspots and they make me feel like I also know some nice places in London.

Droog Design is one of the highlights of Amsterdam Design. The city is a great blend between old and new, with its canals and historical settings mixed with scattered spots of modern design and innovative ideas – Droog Hotel is one of the perfect balance between the two dialogues.

The opportunity of staying at Droog Hotel will really emphasize on the unique nature of modern innovative designs and the Historical characteristics of the one and only Amsterdam.

As a recent graduate of interior design from Pratt, I’m always looking to understand how other cultures manifest their values physically. The Dutch aesthetic in particular is very fascinating to me–the quirky yet functional approach they bring to design is completely unique and something I’d love to experience in person. Also, I’m hoping to start a career in hospitality design and seeing a quintessentially Dutch boutique hotel would be truly inspiring.

    Thanks for your consideration!

I don’t “want” to win this but instead i “need” this

To have this opportunity means i could have experienced dutch contemporary design only by visiting one place in one night, which is going to be one-derfull 🙂

So if God doesn’t always give what you want but always what you need, then i say *fingercrossed!

    cheers !

    “You are living your story”

I would love to have the chance to stay in such a beautiful place that i would probably not be able to afford on my own. I also really need to go away from the madness that is my life right now and visiting another country would be the perfect idea.

Maybe not yet the ‘beach under the paving stones’ but, like the Droog ideology, Hotel Droog is a damn fine attempt. It’s the individuality that makes the difference. Simple as that.

Amsterdam – what a city! Besides culture of different times and lovely people the one thing I love there are the great design-hotels and design-shops. Droog store is the most innovative and exciting design store there – what dream it would be to sleep in their hotel! I love everything about the style of this room, winning this would be a perfect birthday present for my wonderful man, who is crazy about amsterdam since he went there a long time ago. And I am searching a present for him like gaga! So – fingers crossed! xxx

I’m doing my erasmus in Belgium right now. I’m a design student from Barcelona, and Ghent is getting too small for me. So I want to travel a lot around Netherlands and get impregned of the design athmosphere there. Amsterdam would be a really nice place, never been there!
And I can not even imagine how great would be staying at Droog Hotel, clearly the movement that put dutch design in the spotlight!
So excited only with having the opportunity!

Me and my boyfriend used to live in Amsterdam for 5 years, since this summer happily living in the Austrian capital. However, who once lived in Amsterdam and moves away, soon misses the gezelligheid, petiteness and friendliness of the Amsterdammers. And I mean it. It would be real fun to go back, to a place we once called home, behaving like tourists, outsiders. Will we see the city with different eyes?

    Dear Petite Passport,

After 5 Weeks of a crying newborn baby, being at home all day except for a short visit to the supermarket or the park, it would be great to sleep there for one night. To enjoy the beautiful design and change of scène. To celebrate life. Great to go without kids and looking forward to an ‘ononderbroken’ night lying together with my love, but if the little girl will join us, no better way to enjoy the room to the max than by waking up twice during the night for a feeding session. A night well spent in a beautiful place!
