MINA-NO-IE MELBOURNE (NOW CLOSED)

Unfortunately this spot has now closed its doors

Most striking feature:

The location. In a huge warehouse in Collingwood you’ll find Mina-no-ie, which means ‘everybody’s home’ in Japanese. The owners are known for their other Collingwood cafe called CIBI where they mix the Japanese food- and coffee culture with home accessoires. They also do this at Mini-no-ie, but then in a much lighter and more spacious building. They sell beautiful homeware such as tea pots, cups and plates, but also books from independent publisher Perimeter Books and plants from local florist Cecilia Fox. But we must not forget to mention the food: they do healthy breakfast and lunch inspired by the Japanese cuisine, but with an Australian twist. Go for their lunch box and choose from meat, fish and veggie and you will be amazed by the cooking of the chef.
