Didn’t win? No worries, keep an eye on Petite Passport for the next contest!

Today is the first day of 12 Days of Christmas, the countdown to Christmas with every day a gift I would like to receive under the Christmas Tree, in the spotlight. And not only that: because every day we give one of those beautiful products away to you my dear reader!

On this first day we’ve teamed up with international renowned textile designer Mae Engelgeer, of Studio Mae Engelgeer, whose tea towels are so beautiful the dishes suddenly became your favorite thing to do. But she designs more: have you seen her ‘yeah rug’ yet? You will add it to your wishlist immediately! Her scarves, her blankets, her table cloth: it’s all so stunning! She sells her work at various spots who are featured on Petite Passport like Restored, Bilder & de Clercq and a few months ago I’ve seen her work also in a tiny little pop up store of the TextielMuseum in Den Haag. New is that Mae Engelgeer working on fabrics for furniture and that’s she’s starting a collaboration with a cool Scandinavian brand… More about that in 2015!

Mae Engelgeer is giving away the Flock Tea Towel (2 x) and the Lil + Lila Placemats (2 x) to two persons.

The pattern on the Flock Tea Towel is inspired by marble stones and has a faded grey color such as gravel. The Tea Towel is made in the TextileLab in Tilburg. Lil + Lila is a set of two placemats (also produced and developed in the TextileLab). Lil more grey and Lila more pastel toned. A must have for every design home!

Love the placemats! We try to have diner at least 2 times a week together. Because it’s just the two of us, we always use cute placemats instead of a tablecloth. Would be great to dine with these nice placemats!

A beautiful tea towel brightens up my day or better my husband’s because he’s the one using it when we’re doing the dishes. I’d actually put it under the Christmas tree for him as there’s no dishwasher coming in our house in the future.

Like anyone else, I ‘deserve’ to win! 😉 Mae Engelgeer has an outstanding feeling of design, colors, textures and combines it into very beautiful and handsome products! And all her products are wrapped like little bonbons! That’s just the reason I like her designs so much….

I bought Mae Engelgeer’s tea towel in a shop in Amsterdam as a birthday gift for my friend. I must have been almost a year ago, as her birthday is this Sunday. The name on the tag has worn off and she kept asking me what’s the name of the brand. Until today I did not know the answer and find if really cool that I solved the mystery exactly a year later. This would be a great gift for Marta!

The placemats would be lovely as we have an old table and always eat on trays because we don’t want to ruin the wood.
And I never say no to tea towels as we don’t have dishwasher nor much space to let the dishes dry (plus I accidentally burnt one, and I’m left with the ones that get soaked immediately).
And the main reason: I’m a sucker for cute designs and soft colors like these! They’re so beautiful!!
Thank you so much for this contest!

Ah yes, finally it’s december, it’s raining outside and temperatures are in freefall. Time to light the fireplace, invite your friends and prepare for a full month of eating and drinking. Though, if there’s one thins that gives me sweaty hands more than the prospect of cooking a 5 course meal for 15 people it’s probably the amount of dishes I’ll have to wash afterward.
If only there was something that could make this dreadful chore a bit more bearable…
