Federal Cafe in Sant Antoni is one of my favorite lunch spots in Barcelona. Especially when the sun is shining, the windows are fully open and you order a healthy shake and a delicious sandwich, you find yourself in hotspot heaven. Federal Cafe was set up by two Australians who wanted to bring that cool healthy atmosphere you see so often in Australia to Barcelona. And did they succeed! Federal Cafe is now the number one spot for many tourists and locals who visit Sant Antoni. Following this success, the opened a Federal Cafe in Madrid (see my Tried & Tested report here) and TODAY, yes this morning at 9am, they opened the doors of the latest Federal Cafe in the Barri Gotic. Near the famous Ramblas, but on a very quiet square where this Federal Cafe also has that large windows that open when it’s sunny so, just as in Sant Antoni, they can bring the outside in. Furthermore, you can expect the same great service and menu. Put it on your list for your next visit to Barcelona. Until then: enjoy my Tried & Tested. The first pictures that are circulating on the internet of this great new spot!

I’ll have to check this place out next time. I love the Federal Cafe Sant Antoni on Parlament, but it has become so busy! My last trip we waited for quite a while on the sidewalk, which I expected, but that wasn’t the case on my first visit.

Thanks for your comment! Yes, it has grown into one of the most popular spots in Barcelona, so yes, try the one in Barri Gotic next time. You will love it too!

Oops, I just re-commented by accident, but I will say that I keep coming back to PetitePassport. I love your tips and suggestions.

I love the Federal Cafe on Parliament. Such a great spot! Will have to try the Gotic location on my next visit. Best hangover breakfast in Barcelona.
