When Sophie, the owner of HAPPY Guesthouse in the center of Brussels (within walking distance from Bozar where you can now visit the fashion exhibition ‘The Belgians‘, until September 13, 2015) took a roadtrip with her husband to the south of the United Kingdom and stayed at various small bed and breakfasts, her dream was born. To create a small guesthouse in the center in Brussels. They are now open since a few months and they only have four rooms with a beautiful Scandinavian look and feel. Three of the rooms have high ceilings, great wooden frames around the bed and a work table facing the street. The fourth room is located in the attic and is very cozy (especially when it rains and you hear the rain tapping on the window) and has a private patio.

When you arrive at the hotel you will receive a code that allows you to enter the guesthouse and therefore it feels more like your own apartment than a hotel. In the morning they serve breakfast at the communal table on the ground floor and it’s more than perfect. From the freshly squeezed watermelon juice to tea, pastries, yogurt and much more. The good thing is that you’re sharing the table with the other guests and you’ll not only share recommendations of where to go and what to do, but also hear their stories. HAPPY guesthouse also works together with Taschen Books and that’s why you will not only find inspiring books in your room but also some pretty heavy limited edition publications on the ground floor. And the name? It comes from the song Happy by Pharell that was a big hit at the time of opening. And of course it is also the intention of the owner to make everyone as happy as possible in this lovely guesthouse!
