Arck stands for Architectenkamers (Architect Rooms in English) and is located in Tielrode. I can hear you thinking: where? Tielrode is a very small, rural town in Belgium, but it’s actually an excellent place to stay if you want to visit Antwerp, Ghent and Brussels because it’s right in the middle of those three cities.  The bed and breakfast is a project of architect couple Nele and Bas Wauman who live and work next door. When the house next to their house came on the market, they did not hesitate, bought it and turned it into this super inspiring bed and breakfast. When you enter Nele is there to check you in inside their in-house designstore where you can buy pillows, diaries, lamps and many more cool stuff. A good idea because we’re often take inspiration from the cool places we stay and here we can immediately buy it and bring some of the inspiration back home. On the ground floor there’s one room (called Inzicht) decorated in black colors (even the toilet is black) and the shower is behind a black wall behind the bed. A more masculine room. Also you’ll find the communal area here on the ground floor: a beautiful room where the breakfast is served in the morning and where you can also drink a cup of tea in the evening and read some of the newspapers, magazines or design books. The view makes you relaxed in a second: you look out over the nature. On the first floor you’ll find the two other rooms. If you like a minimalistic almost Japanese kind of room with a view over nature choose for the room called Uitzicht (meaning view in Dutch). And if you love plants, a lot of green, a private terrace and a bath to soak in, then you have to go for Doorzicht. There’s also a study on this floor. Arck B&B is highly recommended if you want to stay in a lovely bed and breakfast that is close to the big cities, but still very quiet. The perfect place to getaway for a weekend! And the surroundings invite you to walk or bike.
