The area around station Bruxelles-Midi isn’t the best in Brussels, but you’ll find many offices there and people who travel from Brussels to London and change trains here sometimes do have some extra time. Then Mammouth is the place to go. You’ll see it directly when you enter the street: huge windows, a lot of light inside and the smell of fresh baked goodies. The two girls, a former lawyer and a former teacher, who run Mammouth make everything themselves in the big kitchen behind the counter. From soups to sandwiches and from healthy salads to guilty pleasures such as the, still warm and very good, chocolade cookie I had. The interior is very inspiring: scrabble letters mark the door of the toilet, you’ll see hanging plants and cool furniture. Mammouth is open during the week for breakfast, lunch and drinks.
