The Loft is a cool temporary design concept in Amsterdam. In the penthouse in a canal house on the Prinsengracht The Playing Circle opened a store, exhibition space and, overall, a place to get yourself inspired. They’ve worked together with artists, brands and stores to create a loft where you would like to live immediately. Look at the beautiful kitchen for example, a design by Eginstill, with a marble counter and green doors. On the wall they’ve created a hanging system made by magnets so strong you can easily put three bottles of olive oil on it. In the living room we can see a beautiful couch by LA designer Stephen Kenn (the same one I saw at Juice Served Here during my trip to LA in January). There’s a corner made by Denham which shows the art of making jeans. There’s a piano in the room provided by the piano workshop in the same building. It’s surrounded by hundreds of (art- and design) books by the American Book Center. There’s a bed by Matt, a bath by Baden & Baden and, for me, the most striking piece of art is the illustration of Chinese artist Ai Weiwei by Daan Noppen.

The Loft is open till September 6th and closed on Mondays. Check out:
