New in Greenpoint is Di an Di, a Vietnamese eatery in a stunning environment.

Let’s go eat

You hardly notice the entrance, although it’s around the corner of Homecoming and Maman. When the green door opens at 5 pm, everyone rushes inside, so it’s full before you know it. Di an Di means ‘let’s go eat’ in Vietnamese, so after their opening a few weeks ago, everyone already follows their advice.

On the menu, you’ll find Vietnamese food, with a big emphasis on pho. If you don’t eat meat, you will also love Di an Di as they have several delicious vegetarian dishes to choose from.

The interior is done by Huy Bui, a designer known for his project Plant in City, where he explores the cross-section of plants, architecture, and technology.

Hello Pauline! Thank you very much for all your posts! They are all very useful and inspiring.

My husband and I are going to NY for 4 days. Taking into account that we have been there several times, would you recommend us to stay in Brooklyn instead of Manhattan?

Which one of the two NY guides is the newest? I have the ones from London and Barcelona and I really love them, so I will definitely buy the NY one.

    Kind regards from Barcelona!

      Hello Marta,

Thank you for your comment and for your enthusiasm about the guides! That’s why I’m doing it!

Tough question. Manhattan is of course great because you will have all the great spots, exhibitions and parks close by. But then again: Williamsburg is more quiet, more hipster and there’s a lot to discover too. And it’s easy to get from Manhattan to Brooklyn by metro or even with the East River ferry. Does that help? If you go for Manhattan I would choose a hotel in Downtown NY (NoMad or down) if you’ve already seen all the tourist attractions like Times Square etc. The cool places are more in downtown.

The New York Guide #003 is the latest. And for now only available as an online guide. The printed one will be available at the end of September I think.

      Warm wishes, Pauline
