BAKERY
Market and bakery on the Piet Heinstraat
13 June 2019
The Fine Store by Eveline Maat opened the doors again. At a brand new and very spacious location in the Bomenwijk in The Hague.
Her first store opened five years ago on the Piet Heinstraat in The Hague with a focus on slow design. Soft colors and high-quality products that last for years.
Slowly The Fine Store was becoming too small and she found this building (once a dental practice) on the Thomsonlaan. A good move with a direct tram line from Central Station and free parking in front. And because of the size of the store, she can now also offer a Menu sofa or give the Ercol and Hay chairs the space they deserve. She sells Scandinavian brands such as Frama and Fredericia, but Northern design is not her focus. You can also expect Santa & Cole from Spain, Hasami porcelain from Japan, a sturdy wooden table from German brand Stattmann and timeless linen by By Molle.
My eyes fell on a candle holder with candles that seem to melt into a block of stone. A design by Swedish designer Sanna Völker who collaborated with Spanish artisan stonemason Granits Barbany, who are also creators for Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. You want that right. Beautiful and with an interesting story to tell. You can also visit The Fine Store for small presents such as postcards, soaps, magazines, and tea towels.
