Firma is a co-working space and cafe in Vilvoorde and they also opened the doors in the center of Brussels. Apart from the creative businesses who work there, you can also go there for lunch at Cantine

Co-working space Firma

Right in the center of Brussels you have to take the stairs to get to Firma and Cantine, a 600m2 co-working space and cafe. Owner Anne van Assche got the keys of this amazing location only temporary. They will close in 2021 to make space for the new offices of Axel Vervoordt and Fosbury & Sons. As she shows me around the offices she introduces me to a graphic designer, a journalist and a designer. As Firma is much smaller than big co-working companies, there’s a bigger sense of community and lots of people create  projects together as well.

Vegan cafe

As Firma and Cantine will be here only for a limited time she had to come up with a low-budget interior that is still inspiring. The walls made of easy to tear down polycarbonate plates, Anne designed most of the furniture herself and added Muller Van Severen lamps to it, as well as a black Togo set. On the menu they serve seasonal dishes with a focus on vegetarian/vegan recipes. They recommended me to try the pesto Croque Monsieur.

Art & events

It could be an art gallery due to the size, the all-white interior and the location (Brussels is known for the large amount of good galeries), and they do have an art space where they host exhibitions. They also cater for parties and organize dinners. And in December they hosted Supermarket 3, a cool event where they sold the work of their favorite designers. Keep an eye out for the next edition!
