MONDAY MEMO #03
Good morning!
Welcome to the third edition of Monday Memo. A diary of fun things: new openings I’m excited about, exhibitions I like to go to, products I love, initiatives that caught my eye, news I want to share and much more. All related to hotspots, design and travel of course. Every two weeks 10 things, so let’s go!
New store in Rotterdam
Susan Bijl just opened her new store in Kralingen, Rotterdam. Perfect to buy yourself a new Summer bag.
Wild Animals
Until August 5 Rop van Mierlo will show his work at Graanmarkt13.
New in Antwerp
Chef Sergio Herman opened Le Pristine, a new restaurant in Antwerp. Fine casual dining with a touch of Zeeland and the flair of Italy. Interior is done by Space Copenhagen, known for spots such as 108 in Copenhagen and 11 Howard in New York.

Off to the country side
Gather your friends and go camping at Camp Hox, the seriously cool glamping site in Oxfordshire by The Hoxton Hotels, known for their hotels in cities like Amsterdam, London and Paris.

The Netherlands Guide
Finally also available in print: The Netherlands Guide. Find all my favorite addresses in it. From a coffee bar in The Hague to a hidden restaurant in Maastricht. And from a getaway in the nature of Friesland to a hotel in a former water tower. Get your copy in the webshop.
Temporary pop-up museum in Amsterdam
Do you have a thing for up-and-coming contemporary artists? Go to Unfair in Amsterdam, a temporary (until August 23rd) pop up museum in Westergas.
You can see them flying
On my list is a visit to Stedelijk Museum in Schiedam where they show the work of Zoro Freigl, a Dutch artist fascinated by all things moving. For this exhibition he experimented with the movements of birds, so he made an installation and when you look up you will see a flock of birds flying over your head. Interesting! Until October 4th.

Beach attitude
Temperatures are rising to 30+ degrees this week so we have to get our beach outfit ready. Take this sunset towel by Love Stories with you and while you’re shopping on their site, add a new bikini to the shopping list too.
It’s freezing in Tel Aviv
To address global warming the Tel Aviv Crafts & Design Biennale displays a highly-polished, stain-steel e-gloo in front of MUSA, the Eretz Israel Museum. Designed by MAGENTA-workshop and on view until February 2021.
