HOLIDAY HOME
stay on the Danish countryside
18 March 2022
In these new times the country side is having its moment. So what’s better than to combine a city trip with an escape to nature? In a 2-hour drive South from Copenhagen you’ll end up in Lolland, an unspoiled area with long beaches, good restaurants and some art. Let’s see what caught my eye and I’ll give you some extra tips too.
I’ve stayed at Vipp Farmhouse, a thatched roof forest house that sleeps 6. Read the full report here.
Sollestedgard is a family run estate since the 19th century. The owners live in this beautiful castle below and in 2020 they’ve opened their restaurant Den Gronne Verden, where they use as many ingredients out of their own farm land. The land is huge and it includes a big forest where you’ll find the Vipp Farmhouse.
The facade of Den Gronne Verden, the on-site restaurant. They also organize markets during the weekends.
Spotted during a walk in their forest this tiny tiny house.
One of the highlights of Lolland is a visit to the Dodekalitten, an art installation with a superb view

Unfortunately I was here only for one day and the best restaurants were still closed until the beginning of March. But of course I will share more recommendations with you.
Have lunch/dinner at Pomlenakke
Go to see the Nakskov Fjord
Walk along the never-ending beach on the South side of Lolland until Albuen Strand
Restaurant O in Nested looks good too
Enjoy! Warm wishes, Pauline
