CAFE
Coffee and natural wines
25 January 2014
Most striking feature:
The location and the healthy breakfast. The owners of Federal Cafe are from Australia and they decided to open a cafe named after a village in Australia in the Sant Antoni district in Barcelona. That was an area where hardly anything happened (hotspot-wise) during that time, but by bringing the Australian atmosphere, good coffee and a fine rooftop to the area Federal Cafe became an instant hit. And nowadays it’s an area where other great spots just like Taranna, Cometa and Ido do Balear also opened their doors. When they were looking for a place to touch down in Madrid they also wanted to chose an upcoming area. And they found a place in the area around calle Donde Duque. There you will find some spots like the ABC Museo de Dibujo e Ilustracion and some independent shops. Federal Cafe Madrid is bigger than the one in Barcelona. The menu shows you the same healthy shakes and granola, eggs and many lunch dishes. They open the doors at 8am and after that the large table is quickly filled with people who open their laptop and start ordering a coffee. Federal Cafe is definitely a recommendation!
