THE LOFT AMSTERDAM (NOW CLOSED)
The Loft in Amsterdam is a yearly pop up event for design addicts. Maybe you still remember my post of August 2015 when they organized one on the Prinsengracht. If not, check it out here. This year they moved to another fantastic loft in Amsterdam and since they opened the doors today I was there to check it out for you. On the Vijzelgracht (number 77) you will notice a small sign (you will easily walk past it), you have to ring the bell and go up to the third floor. There you will enter a spacious loft with stunning views on both sides (on the back side you will see the huge gardens behind the big canal houses on the Keizersgracht and Herengracht. The most beautiful part of the so-called Grachtengordel if you learn that the mayor of Amsterdam lives there too). The atmosphere is completely different than the last one. More minimalistic, less color and a focus on high end materials such as wood, linnen on the Muun bed (of By Molle) and marble on the kitchen made by Eginstill. For people who also love Graanmarkt 13 in Antwerp, La Granja in Ibiza and Bea b&b in Knokke.
Everything is for sale. From that stunning Paola Navone couch to the knives of Sergio Herman. The art works above the couch are made especially for the loft by Intrigue. The portraits are made by Maarten Schroder. And I love the beautiful leather Hunting Chair by Fredericia. But also the skinny and elegant candle holder on the communal table is stunning and more affordable than the sofa by Morentz for example. But above all The Loft is a place to get inspired. They also organize a yoga workshop by Delight here and a book reading by Philip Huff. The Loft is open until January 22th. Then The Playing Circle will turn the space into an inspiring event/meeting/brainstorm location.
